Forage Bowl I

43.00

The perfect low bowl for all occasions: Harvesting berries or snap peas in the summertime...holding  your massive salads from the garden...for comforting warm pasta dishes in the wintertime...serving up your freshly baked goodies when company comes over...This is the bowl you will reach into your cupboard for.

Measures approximately 8" wide x 1.5" tall.

15% of online Forage Bowl sales will go to Thunder Valley CDC, a Lakota operated organization on the Pine Ridge Reservation doing incredible work to encourage and provide sustainable living options and fresh, nutritious food access among many other things rooted in Lakota culture.

I came to learn about Pine Ridge while living in Colorado for many years. It is the poorest county in the US. 97% is living below the poverty line. There is a 90% unemployment rate. 33% of homes don’t have electricity. The teenage rate of suicide is 150% more than the US average. And it is a food desert, with only one grocery store and no public transportation.

Thunder Valley Community Development Corp. is doing incredible work to not only build much needed sustainable housing, but they also provide fresh eggs from their chickens, and offer farming assistance and fresh food access. They are reteaching Lakota language and culture, offering space for artists, providing jobs, and so much more! It has been amazing to see the beginnings of their net-zero, energy regenerative community being built!  I hope you may head to their website and see what they have going on- it is incredibly inspiring and heartwarming to see.

*PIECES ARE MADE-TO-ORDER, meaning they will ship out in about 2 to 8 weeks depending on volume of orders. If you are looking for a faster turnaround, please let me know in the notes section at checkout and I will do my best to make accommodations*

Two Hands Full is dedicated to practicing environmental stewardship. Our packaging is proudly PLASTIC-FREE and 99% recyclable (other than the  "fragile" sticker and address label). I also suggest finding a maker/ or shop nearby who can re-use the materials and box/es or reusing them yourself or in your garden to sheet mulch!

Each wheel-thrown piece is one of a kind and made with heart at my studio in Tacoma, Washington. Because of this, measurements are approximate and there may be slight variations in glaze. Finished with a non-toxic and food safe glaze, these bowls are microwave safe and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended.
